This article will guide you through your first steps on our web interface and your role as an admin.
While you will be onboarded by your CSM who will be in charge of the main configuration, it is in the responsibility of each organisation to manage their user base and access to the parking. It is therefore crucial that you understand the Izix system and core functionalities.
1. Get familiar with the Izix key concepts
In order to understand the configuration options and references, it is recommended to take a look at Izix' glossary. Particularly section "Access Control" contains crucial information:
2. Understand your needs and create access strategies with the help of your CSM
Your CSM will support you in setting up the backbone of your Izix account. Based on your needs, they will create a number of access strategies. Some guiding questions that will define your users' accesses:
- Do you have limited spots available and need to manage occupancy?
- Does your staff have different needs/benefits that should impact the possibility to enter the parking?
- Are parking spots payable or should their usage be limited on a regular basis?
- Do you expect visitors to access your parking?

3. Create profiles and provide them with access(es)
- Add Users to your account. This is a key step for your staff to gain access to a parking:
💡 How to create a profile (one or multiple)? - At Izix, an existing profile does not suffice to gain access to a parking, for this access rights are required:

💡 Assign access rights in bulk via the mobility bundle. - Most of your users will be so-called "simple users" which is a role automatically assigned to a newly created user. However, we recommend at least 3 administrator roles to ensure full access to your account at all times. You may have reception or security staff that should be able to review users' accesses:

4. Manage your vehicles if you have any
If you have shared vehicles that can be used by staff when desired, it is recommended to manage the access to the parking via Izix by using the fleet vehicle concept.
Fleet vehicles are vehicles that can stay in the car park and have allocated spaces.
These vehicles are also subject to certain access rights: fleet vehicles can either have Preferential access or Booking access. Find more information in the articles below:

5. Understand your role as admin and how to troubleshoot
It takes time to get used to a new system. Your users may contact you stating "The system does not work, I was not able to access the parking". It is important to review some basic information before contacting the Izix Support Team:
- Review the access logs: The access logs give us clear indication on why a user might have been refused from entering. Causes range from missing access rights, to the wrong licence plate or simply not understanding how to access a parking
- Review the user's profile to identify their access rights, reservations and other relevant profile information. In most cases, missing acces rights are the cause:
