Izix may show you that there are no available parking spots although you can see free spots. Learn why there may be a discrepancy between physical and virtual spots and how to verify the capacity.
This article is addressed to users and administrators. It explains why it may happen that the parking appears only partially full, yet the app shows that it is at full capacity.
Why is there a discrepancy between physical and virtual spots available?
Izix allows to divide the parking in different zones and groups of parking spots. Each group of parking spots may be accessible to a different group of users. For example, one area is reserved for management staff, one area is reserved for electronic vehicles etc.. In addition, in the case of bookings, the user with a reservation may not yet have entered the premises. Depending on the access rights of the user and the linked group of spots it may therefore happen that the parking still seems partially available, but the app will show that the parking is full. This is not an error but expected based on the configuration.
How can I verify whether this is correct or not?
Contact your administrator if you have any doubt. Your administrator has access to Izix to review the configuration and capacity.
I am an administrator. How can I verify the capacity?
You have several ways to review the capcity and verify the setup of your account. Follow the below steps to get a full overview of your capacity:
- Check the dashboard. The dashboard gives you a real-time overview of your current capacity. Learn how to use it here. Compare the current capacity with the acess right of the user (see below).
- Please note, if you wish to review past capacity, you must rather use Izix insights or check the reservation list and follow the additional steps below.
- Review the groups of spots and access policies linked to them. Click on the respective parking -> Administration -> Groups of spots management. Check which acces policy is linked to the group of spots and how many spots are available.
- Verify the access right of the user who reached out. Compare the access right of the user with the dashboard capacity and/or the group of spots to determine how many spots are usually available for this user. E.g. if this user has a First Come First Served (FCFS) access right and FCFS and preferential access share the same group of spots, you can assume that spots are always blocked due to the preferential access. Learn more about the access strategies here.
The above steps are crucial for you to confirm the correct functioning of the system and whether your setup still matches your needs. If you would like to make changes to the group of spots, please contact your Account Manager.
