1. What is "No Re-entry"?

No re-entry refers to the automatic closure of a reservation when leaving the parking lot no matter the end time of the initial reservation.

2. What is the purpose of it?

This feature allows for real-time occupancy monitoring of your parking facility and helps avoid wasting unused parking resources. The auto-closing function updates the occupancy as soon as the user leaves, thereby freeing up parking spaces for new users to utilise the released spots without any additional manual steps.

3. How do I enable the setting?

This setting can be enabled in the Access Policy setup. For FCFS (First-Come, First-Served) sessions, the closure of a session occurs when the user leaves the parking lot, as long as it is tracked via one of the access methods. However, this does not apply to reservations and preferential accesses. If the user leaves earlier than expected, the session will not be closed by default, allowing them to return to their parking spot after, for example, a lunch break or similar.

When creating the Access Policy, make sure to enable the toggle "Auto-close booking on exit." This will automatically close all sessions upon exiting for all users under this Access Policy:

Be aware of the implications for your users. If you are unclear about the impact, discuss this feature with your Account Manager or the Izix Support Team before enabling it.

4. Good to know

This functionality is available for booking and preferential accesses. Once enabled, users will be notified via email that their session was auto-closed:

  • For users with booking access, the notification will refer to "auto-closing".
  • For users with preferential access, the notification will refer to "auto-release".

Furthermore, in case of an auto-release for preferential accesses, the release will appear on the user's profile.
