What is the grace period and how to use it?

It is difficult to plan the exact arrival/departure time. Give your users flexibility by having a grace period.

This feature's availability depends on your subscription plan and role.

Definition: The grace period is a designated buffer time added before and after a user's parking session, providing greater flexibility for users when accessing and exiting the parking facility.

Note: The grace period is designed to be utilised through Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR); it is not applicable for remote access via the Izix application.

1. What is the grace period and why should you use it?

The grace period is a feature that enables administrators to specify a time buffer before and after a user's reservation, allowing for greater flexibility in accessing the parking facility. This time buffer is set in minutes and applies to the entire organisation. For instance, if a user books a parking slot from 10:00 to 12:00 and the established grace period is 10 minutes, the user will be permitted to enter the parking area as early as 9:50 and remain until 12:10.

2. How does the grace period affect different users

The grace period applies to the entire organisation. The grace period is contingent upon the overall parking/lease schedule. If the parking schedule begins at a specific time, the grace period will not be applicable before that designated time, unless the user has First Come First Served (FCFS) or Booking access.

The following table depicts how the grace period is applied to different types of Access Strategies:

Preferential Booking On the Fly Booking (OTFB) First Come First Served (FCFS) Fleet vehicle reservation Visitor
