As a digital application, Izix commits to cover the largest use possible. Find out here the requirements to use our application
IZIX strives to support the widest range of devices and browser versions possible. It is always a fine balance between supporting old devices and enabling innovation. Sometimes, it is a necessity to drop the support of old devices and old software, for multiple reasons:
- Old devices don’t support features that are core to the product (geolocalisation, etc.).
- Old devices have security issues that are not fixable.
- The cost of supporting old devices may become too big compared to the number of impacted users.
When we drop the support of a specific device or browser version, we say that it becomes” deprecated”. It means that new versions of our software won’t work on that specific version anymore.
The decision to raise the minimum version number is based on the usage statistics for each device and browser version. When a devices is used by a lot of our users, we avoid deprecating it.
